OBITUARY
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Joseph F. Triola who died peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. He was 87 and a life-long resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie. He was born August 12, 1937 in Poughkeepsie, New York to Mario and Ellen Triola. He was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and Farmingdale State College in Long Island. Joe worked at IBM in Poughkeepsie for 39 years, retiring in 1994 and he honorably served in the National Guard based in Fort Drum, New York from 1959-1964. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and his family and friends meant everything to him. He cherished time spent with family and friends. In the summer, he looked forward to many joyous family gatherings beside the pool and playing Bocci. Weekly, he enjoyed family Friday night cards at the dining room table. Joe also enjoyed occasional casino trips with his wife Julie and son Philip in his retirement years. He is survived by Juliann Triola, his wife of 61 years, their three sons; Steven (Karina), Philip and Robert (Maria) and seven grandchildren; Jennifer (Derek), Steven Jr. (Brooklynn), Andrew, Matthew, Ashlyn and step-grandchildren Kate and Keira as well as 6 great-grandchildren; Alexia, Connor, Benjamin, Parker, Amelia and Thomas-Joseph. He is also survived by his brother, Mario Triola and his wife Ginny and several nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Salvatore, sister-in-law Dorothy and his parents Mario and Ellen. Friends and Family visitation will be on Monday, March 10, 2025 from 4pm-7pm, at Delehanty Funeral Home, Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 11, 10:00am, at St. Martin de Porres Church, Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Church cemetery in Wappingers Falls. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Food Pantry in Wappingers Falls.
