Palmera "Pat" Balash, 92, of Wappingers Falls, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center. She was born in Lowell, Mass. November 10, 1925, the daughter of Dominick and Palmera Costa Souza. Pat was a waitress in various restaurants, namely Yankee Clipper and Charkalis in Beacon, and Patty's Charcoal Drive-in, She also was employed at Holiday Bowl in Wappingers Falls. Pat was an avid bowler with her husband, and enjoyed Casino's. She always lit up a room when she entered Pat was predeceased by her husband and soulmate, Charles Balash on Dec. 20, 1978. She later was lucky enough in later life to meet a friend and partner, John Silvestri, who is predeceased. Surviving are her children, Charles Balash of Rhinebeck, Pam (Bruce) Barnett of Wappingers Falls, and Suzanne Nolan of Wappingers Falls, a brother, Dominick Souza of Mass., 6 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Louise Balash in 1964. Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, Friday from 4 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Marys Church, 11 Clinton St., Wappingers Falls. Burial St. Marys Cemetery.
