Glenn "Tom" Heady
Glenn "Tom" Heady, 70, of the town of Wappinger, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, surrounded by his family at Vassar Bros. Medical Center. He was born in Buchanan, N.Y. December 16, 1946, the son of Leonce and Marilyn Price Heady. On April 6, 1968, in Gardner, he was married to Ursula Diana Asendorf, who survives at home. Tom was employed as a Foreman and heavy equipment operator for the Town of Wappinger Highway Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, yardwork, and collecting WWII memorabilia, especially reading many books on the war. Tom was a life member of the New Hackensack Fire Co.,as his father was, and his son Christopher is continuing in his footsteps. Glenn was also a social member of the Chelsea Fire Co. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Christopher Heady and his wife Karen, of Wappingers Falls, daughter, Rebecca Cabrera and her husband Michael, of Wappingers Falls, a grandstepson, Tommy and his fiance Gabby, brothers, Lee Heady and his wife Rita of Turin, N.Y., Paul Heady and his wife Melinda of Clinton Corners, nieces and nephews, Erin, Meagan, Jeremy, Sarah, cousins, Melanie, Michael Hexel and family, who called him Uncle Tommy. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at noon at the New Hackensack Fire house, Myers Corners Road, Wappingers Falls. Family and friends will have a gathering after the service.
