Obituary for William J. Reilly Sr.

William J. Reilly, Sr., 71, of Stanfordville, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at his home. He was born in the Bronx on February 23, 1946, the son of William and Stella Spevack Reilly. On August 19, 1967 in St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls, he was married to Carol A. DeMeo, who survives. Mr. Reilly was a communicant of St. Joseph-Immaculate Conception Church in Millbrook, attended Dutchess Community College, and was employed at IBM in Poughkeepsie as a 3rd line Manager. Mr. Reilly was an avid golfer, enjoyed animals, softball, and authored a book, Flame- the horse that refused to die. He was a member of the BPOE and the Italian Center of Poughkeepsie, D.C. Office of the aging delivering meals, a humane law officer for the DCSPCA, a volunteer for Make a wish Foundation, and a member of the American Legion Post #1793, Stanfordville. He served in the Army in the 854th Combat Engineers from 1966 to 1972. Surviving besides his wife are his children, William J. Reilly, Jr. and his wife Laura of Hyde Park, Robert Reilly and his wife Suzanne of Wappingers Falls, Twin daughters, Lori Sheldon and her husband Greg, Sr. of Michagan, and Lisa Petrus and her husband John of Connecticutt, grandchildren, Jennifer, Lauri, Chelsea, Ashley, Kayla, Alicia, Nicole, Alexis, Shannon, Greg Jr., Courtney, Chris, Ryan, Amanda, Johnnie, and Reilly, Great grandchildren, James, Lyndsey, Jacob, Makilia, Bradley, Leah, Emery, Cameron, an expected greatgrandchild, a sister, Nancy Pampalone and her husband Anthony of Wappingers Falls, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, Clinton St., Wappingers Falls. Burial St. Mary's Cemetery.Contributions may be made to the D.C.
